Peter de Haan sees in glass an earthly product that in its simplicity gives both shelter
and color to the inner life, in short the window of the soul. It is this feeling that he wants
to express in painting on glass.
In the case of stained glass, the lead also brought limitations in addition to its own beauty.
In ‘Glassfusing’ – a new technique – where different pieces of glass melt together under
great heat – after cooling, only the breaking line between the various parts is visible.
This provides opportunities for greater freedom when working with glass. And provides
more possibilities to think and work ‘out of the box’.
